With Web Content - Title is CRITICAL

CRITICAL: Make sure the first 3-5 words of the TITLE of - every - document, blog, article, and webpage you create from this point forward contains the keyword phrase associated with the URL of the content you are trying to drive high in Google.

As the pictures below illustrate, the Title of most blogs, and articles you create and publish on the web, end up as the webpage title that appears between the HTML <title></title> tags in the webpage's source code. You can typically right click on any webpage, and click on "View Source" to open up another window displaying the source code that is generating the associated webpage. Don't freak out. You don't need to know anything about HTML or any other kind of coding. We're just attempting to explain how this works.

Example Blogs published on Ecademy with the keyword phrase - Internet Presence - in the title:

  • Internet Presence - When And How To Start Building Yours
  • Internet Presence - Just Google me.
  • Internet Presence - "I am getting …BUSINESS emails!"
  • Internet Presence versus Internet Marketing - How Do They Relate?
  • Internet Presence: Network is a verb.
  • Internet Presence: Websites versus Blogs
  • Internet Presence

Webpage Title

Don't confuse the name of your business or your domain name with the Webpage TITLE of the associated content. Specifically, we are referring to the HTML TITLE associate with the specific URL you are trying to drive to high ranking in the search engines. Just like a blog or article has a TITLE, so does any webpage.

If the webpage you are trying to drive higher in search engine ranking is not in your control, then ask the individual responsible for the website to add the keyword phrase to the front end of the HTML <title></title> tags in the webpage's source code.

Again, don't freak out. This is important, and will accelerate the associated webpage's rise in search engine rankings, but it isn't a disaster if you can't change the title of the webpage to include the keyword phrase. It simply talks a little more effort to drive the page's ranking higher.
